A truck caught fire in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn on Monday. The drivers filmed it and were fined for it.

Nearly 40 thousand euros in fines were collected

According to HAK magazine, as many as 152 drivers were fined for filming the accident with cellphones while behind the wheel of their vehicles. The fine for using a telephone while driving in the Netherlands is 240 euros, with 9 euros administrative costs. This means that the police handed out fines worth 37,848 euros to drivers.

The truck burned completely, and the fire caused columns on either side of the road. The traffic jams were also caused by the drivers slowing down and filming.
