The social network Twitter announced today that it is testing an option that allows users to report content based on fake news.

“By testing the option, you can tag tweets that you think contain fake news the moment you see it,” the company said.

Some users in the United States, South Korea, and Australia may choose the “it’s fake” option for the time being, and Twitter states that it is starting on a smaller scale to determine if it is an effective approach.

The issue of misinformation about kovid-19 and vaccines has reached such proportions that US President Joseph Biden even ruled in July that Facebook and other platforms were “killing” people by spreading false news about the disease and vaccination.
